If you are going to play in the dunes, quads are fun, but I think my idea of dune fun is funner...

If you have ever wanted to try paragliding, the instructors I train with are near Fort Stevens State Park, and they will do tandem flights over the beach with folks who want to experience free flight. PM me if you want their contact information.

HA, I just had this vision of a quad towing someone on a paraglider with a sandboard strapped to his feet.

My brother used to paraglide, and I think he even travelled to Oregon for training once or twice. He shifted gears and now flys an a.r.v. Tanarg, which is kinda-sort a motorized hang glider which suspends a trike style, experimental class, open cockpit airplane.
Tanarg 912s

Herb, that looks like a hoot. I wouldn't turn down an opportunity to fly one. But I have to say...now that I am accustomed to flying without the sound of a motor, I'm spoiled for life. There is nothing like being 2,000 feet off the deck in the luxury of pure silence.
