Sportsmobiles first trip

Took a couple freinds to Death valley for the first trip. Cold and windy but we still had fun!

Great looking trip, Jayson. I'm sure you felt like a million dollars, or at least $100K!

Hi Jayson,
Congrats on the new rig and looks like a great trip to DV.

In your photo, I noticed the switches above your head (presumably for your auxiliary lights). Did you put that in yourself? What brand or details can you tell me about it?

I am installing the sPod this week and it does not quite fit there. Any info would be appreciated.

Steve

They are aircraft switches that i bought at peterbuilt and brought down to SMB. What you see is just the covers wich are about $19 dollars each, the switches you have to buy seperate! I had Smb do the install if you look in my album theres another picture at a better angle. The good thing about the aircraft style switches is you cant bump them on and if the covers down the swich is off!

If you do some searching, you can find the toggle switch covers for a better price, but there are definitely varying degrees of quality. There are a lot of cheesy-chromey plastic covers out there for the nitrous-oxide crowd. No matter what, make sure you buy either from one source, or make sure they are all the same manufacturer.

Some manufacturers also offer them in a few different colors. Also make sure to make allowances for the extra space they take up in both the open and closed position.

Very cool. Your setup looks good. I will post shots of the sPOD install. the switchbox is too big to fit where you put yours so I will be putting it under a platform I made for the doghouse.

Nice van.

I had my switches installed overhead as well. I'm in the process of moving a couple of them down to the dash and found good quality toggle switches and those aircraft safety covers at Del City at good prices. I also found the same switches that SMB used.
