So, we are back. We had an amazing trip. Sorry to those I offered to meet up with and then didn't. Truth is we stayed off the grid and had little cell service almost the whole trip. We stayed in an Inn in Frisco, Colorado one night and an organized CG another night, other than that 2 weeks of blissful BLM dispersed camping, exploring and hiking. Also, our path changed after the North Rim, Zion and one day at Bryce. We bailed from the fires and heat and headed for the highest country we could find in Utah and Colorado north of 70. I'll post up some pics and a TR soon.

Southern Oregon

Last week my daughter and I spent 5 nights camping in southern Oregon, first at Applegate Lake for three nights, then at Lake of the Woods for two more. Beautiful weather, a bit hot at Applegate.

First two nights were spent at Applegate Hart Tish campground, which was basically a glorified parking lot, but worked OK and was lakeside, at least.

Third night was at a primitive site near the Payette trailhead with no one else around at all!

After that we headed east over Dead Indian Memorial Road and ended up lucking into a campsite at Lake of the Woods, Aspen Point for two nights. I managed to mountain bike 4 days in a row, take in a drum corps show, visit Ashland, Jacksonville, and Klamath Falls and tour Lake of the Woods in a small motorboat. Fun times!

You have small feet. J/k, thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to heading out to Oregon next week, picking our van up from Quadvan. Will not get to southern Oregon but perhaps another time. Looks like fun!
