Re: Summer trip planning, CO/AZ/UT/WY
Wow, I was more or less out of touch for a week and a half, so I missed this. So VERY sorry to hear about your Dad, but I think you have th right outlook, honoring your Dad's memory by taking a trip that he would appreciate himself.
Safe travels.
Herb

Re: Summer trip planning, CO/AZ/UT/WY
dang condolences as well. sorry to hear about your pops eric
BUT, congrats on your anniversary and what great way to spend it! i just had my 7th on the 7th (married 6/7/08, wife chose date so we would remember it...shes forgot the last 2 years, lol), so were still green compared to most, but jealous of your itinerary. i went camping for ours, wife showed up after she was off work. she ended up camping 17 hours. dont know if she found it worth it or not. regardless, hope you can enjoy the rest of your journey without a heavy heart. safe travels and keep the pix coming!

Re: Summer trip planning, CO/AZ/UT/WY
The comments made by the other members about your dad echo my own sentiments Eric.
Glad you're back on the road enjoying the states. Wish I could join you. Yeah that's one thing
nice about a SMB, pull over and crash where you can. Hope to see more pics as your adventure
progresses.

Re: Summer trip planning, CO/AZ/UT/WY
Thanks all. I appreciate the kind words.
We're in Ridgeway now, just did Owl Creek Pass and it was amazing. We're headed over to Telluride today and back via Ophir Pass since Imogene is still closed. Has anyone run Ophir in an SMB?

Re: Summer trip planning, CO/AZ/UT/WY
Checking in from the road. Very sorry to hear about your dad :-(
We're a bit ahead of you, headed to Estes Park tonight via Boulder and touring the Celestial Seasonings tea factory at my wife's request. We'll be in Rocky Mountain park for the next few days, then up to Yellowstone.
We spent one night near St Elmo ghost town near Salida, which is worth a visit if you haven't seen it. Some nice NFS campgrounds on the same mountain. Then spent two nights at Maroon Bells near Aspen doing some hiking. Again, well worth a visit.
Hope we run across each other!
