X2, man that's a moment you'll never forget. It does show how vulnerable we are at times.

That was intense reading! First I'm so glad all is well, and thank you for sharing. I will be much more aware next time we are in the hot spring that's for sure.

I had to come back to the story a few times as I started visualizing myself in such a situation and could keep reading..... Wow so happy it all worked out well and appreciate that you shared what had to be hard to post. Thanks

Great pictures.
Thanks for sharing
the next morning when i asked her if she wanted to go home, she really didnt even hesitate to say she wanted to keep going. it really did surprise me, but then again, it didnt...if that makes sense.

i then asked if she was going to share this experience with anyone. i told her i would keep it between us if she wasnt comfortable talking about it. that seemed to proplex her more than than anything. im glad she decided to share though. i think its helped us deal with the situation more than we could have imagined.

what i saw when the light went on is burned into my head forever. its something i wish i could forget. i dont want to forget the ordeal as a whole, but that vivid picture is one i could live without seeing again.

and vulnerable is an understatement. i was so lost with what to do. so thankful those 2 gents took that left turn...

thank you as well and happy to share. if we can keep one other person from having to deal with what we all went through that evening, all this pecking at the kb is worth it.

it was a long winded read, so thanks to those who took the time to go all the way through and comment. we really do appreciate the warm response and feedback.

i keep reading the story too. its really weird to me and i get drawn in over and over again even though i know the outcome. dont really understand why.

it wasnt hard to post once we starting looking at the situation in the right light, but that was a hurdle in its self. it actually felt pretty good to hit that post tab and see it available for everyone. like its time to deal with this once and for all.

now, if i could quit re-injuring my damn toe, then i could really fully recover from this, lol. kidding of course...

again, thank you all for the comments. we really do appreciate it

What a chilling read indeed, just wow!

There must be some greater good in store for your wife and you, something bigger that you two are destined for. It might be time to re-think or re-align things. Close calls will do that to a person. Talking, writing, 'dealing with it' so to speak is without a doubt the greatest Rx for the soul.

Some advice I once got from a very wise man after one of my own near-misses "when it ain't your time, it ain't your time..."

^^^ thank you and you bet! its been nice chatting with more people about the ordeal. i feel like its helping me overall. the night weighed heavy at first, but its getting easier and easier to talk about.

it seems to be how people approach me about it though. if it gets brought up how crazy it was (usually guys), i can usually roll through the conversation with ease, but if its a concerned tone, usually from women, i still get choked up. not sure why.

we keep hearing this and i hope it doesnt end up being a let down... i mean, what if she just lives an ordinary life from here on out? shes a wonderful person with a heart of gold and i hope her hearing this over and over again doesnt give her the impression she needs to focus on solving world peace or something. i dont think it will by any means, but this statement we keep hearing from people does concern me a little. who knows, maybe im just over reacting?

...and please know, im not at all offended by your statement. just thinking out loud here.

i know she has been taking opportunities lately to help people less fortunate than herself. its nothing she hasnt done the entire time ive known her, but since this happened, she seems to be a lot more aware of how and what others are doing around her and how she could help or just be a positive note for people in general. not sure if that makes sense, but i am noticing a difference in her and how she looks at things.

I just discovered your thread Shenrie. It's quite scarry! I'm so happy that all went finally good for your wife.

I'm sure you both will remember that night for a long time but hope you still can enjoy other hot springs...

Take care Buddy.
