I just spoke with my wife and it looks like we would like to join you guys for VOF.

daveb, we are also interested in trying to meet up with you in the Mono Lake Area. What days are you planning on heading out there?

I'd like to head there a few days early...you never know what's gonna happen but because I'm not confined to work, I'll be flexible this year. There are several good camps off 120 s/o 395, but I'm also open to suggestions. I wrote about the area on my web site and at that time of year it makes for some great camping around Mono, especially a one night stop.

Once Mac gets a date up we can go from there.

October 14-16. Just checked with the Valley of Fire to make sure Arch Campground will be open in October, which it will. I doubt I will go all out in the planning this year like I did last time -- shirts, stickers, prizes, and reserving everyone's campsite -- but it should be fun just to meet up. And since it is the week following the three day weekend this time (instead of on the three day weekend), it will probably be easier to get a site without me having to break the rules like I did before. I guess I will see how many people are coming before I decide whether I need to bend the rules again. There always is the group site to reserve if needed, but I think it is better when everyone has their own campsite to retreat to when they want to.

So, here is the tally so far, but make sure you have the date right since I changed it:

Coming:

macmcintire (duh!)
DerPo
Gooseberry
MKRyan
DesertSMB
daveb
bettyford
Nick
TeamRD

Possibly Coming:

mikracer
artictraveller
larrie
TexGX
danamrak
86Scotty
Fitz
oldbonesclimber
SixCardCharlie
twogone
maxacceleration
ref
Driveavout

If everyone above came to the Meet and Greet, that is 23 rigs. We had 32 rigs scheduled last time and 28 showed up. If we get a lot of people coming again this time I will check with Alan at SMB West and see if he wants to donate shirts again. It makes for a cool picture when we all have our SMB shirts on standing next to our rigs.

We need to pass. The new dates conflict with another event we need to be at.

Hope you all have a great time.
