Thanks Chris. Then don't go there before late August when the first freezing days kill them... ;-)

Re: VivaLaVida in Alaska [updated page 2, 01/26/15]

My buddy left for Alaska back in the 80's and warned me about those things. At least they're so big they have a hard time gettin through the mesh but seem to find ways in any opening

That's right Dave. They even managed to get in VLV through the dashboard fan until I installed some bug screen on the air intake...

After the first freezing days, they suddenly desappear and it's much more pleasant around the campfire...

Re: VivaLaVida in Alaska [updated page 2, 01/26/15]

Amazing pictures, thank you for sharing. My just asked me when I thought we were going to have time time to take all these road trips I'm planning when I showed her your pictures. I told her when I retire....I'm 36. Oh well I'd think I could possibly make make an Alaska jaunt from Oregon in the next couple years but for now your pictures will keep me motivated. Thanks a bunch. By the way, did you make it to Dead Horse?

Re: VivaLaVida in Alaska [updated page 2, 01/26/15]

Thanks WhitH.

Yes, I went twice to Deadhorse. All the pictures of the last update were snapped along the Dalton HWY, going to and back from Deadhorse... The pictures of my second trip up there will be posted in a coming update with a quite different ambiance...

Great pix! It seems as if you have the whole place to yourself... please comment on other traffic, or other campers/tourists you come across
