Almost for myself yes. The first time I drove to Deadhorse (it was early August), I saw three other tourist vehicles during four days (all truck campers) and about 25 large trucks each day in opposite direction.
Weather was dry to go there, then rainy to come back with some crazy muddy area, about 5 inches deep and incredibly slippery! Wasn't able to drive faster than 10 mph in 4WD, all trucks were stopped allong the road waiting for better conditions. VivaLaVida was likely the only vehicle to be able to drive then thanks to its mud tires. When rain stops, the road drys quite fast so one hour later, all trucks could drive again.

The second time, it was in mid September, after the first blizzard. I still crossed about 25 full size trucks a day but didn't see any tourist... In the tundra, nights where already cold, about -12F... And scenery was quite different. Pictures of this second ride far North to come later on this thread...

Damn, that water crossing looks deep and swift. So did you walk it first cause I'm wondering about how you got the shot.

Ha, I was wondering the same thing! Actually I was wondering if you drove VLV into the river, washed it first bc it looks so clean, then backed out and waded across for a picture.

Re: VivaLaVida in Alaska [updated page 3, 01/28/15]

Fantastic photos as always! I did a bicycle tour through parts of Alaska & know the mosquitos well. I'd have 50 at least on my tent screen waiting for me to come out every morning. Had to Deet up before getting out of the tent.

That does NOT look like something you'd wade across first. I'm curious too.
