Re: VivaLaVida in Alaska [updated page 3, 01/28/15]

Thanks guys.

I didn't walk that water crossing before, to much shift (stream?). Since the bottom was made of quite big stones, there wasn't too much risk to stay stucked, so I drove it slowly, being prepared to back up if getting too deep. I left my camera on the tripod and took picture with a shutter remote coming back through the river... For this picture, it was on a small island in the middle of the river
Only got some water entering VLV through side doors but water stayed on the inside step, so nothing bad. After that, I checked if there was water in differentials but all was fine.
Didn't washed VivaLaVida before taking the picture, the heavy rain of preceding days made it for me!

Had another water crossing still deeper than this one. Have to look for the picture, will post it soon.

@Escape. I stayed about four months in Alaska and Yukon, plenty of time to discover these beautiful scenery...

Here another update...

72. Probably the deepest water crossing I went through. I took that picture a little too early, so it's not the deepest place. Water got over the front bumper top...

Re: VivaLaVida in Alaska [updated page 4, 01/30/15]

I never realized how much scenic beauty is up there. So can you breakdown how easy it is to find a spot to boon dock at Claude or are you forced to stay in campgrounds more often?

I think I speak for many on the forum... you seem to have connected with the reason we do this.

The lack of comments often comes from stunned disbelief
