Beautiful pictures. If you go back in winter, perhaps SMB can do a conversion like this for you:

Well, I've seen many Ford vans converted like this one, with two or even three axles! VivaLaVida looked small next to it.

I like it! Also really like the one from the link TomH introduced, Have seen similar pic's somewhere while on Pinterst. Have to say I could be detached from my E-350 for one of those conversions.

Well, that kind of big tires work great on snow but isn’t that good on gravel or rocky trails...

Wow! That 3 axle Ford is something else. Wonder if it's 6x6.

Time for a Sunday update.

46. Arriving in Seydisfjordur in the rain, where the ferry docks.

47. Only 40 miles further, VivaLaVida is already in the Highlands, at about 2,400 feet elevation.

48. Rain's coming.

49. Immenseness...

50. Rain shower.

51. VivaLaVida is back on trails.

52. Highlands.

53. I met this joung couple doing their wedding trip in there nice Toyota. Took this picture for them as a souvenir :-)

54. Crossing a lava flow.

55. Powerfull glacial river carving its way in the basalt.

56. First boondocking site along the trail. No way to get further from the trail as offroad is very stricktly forbidden in Iceland.

57. Nice puddle in the lava.

Beautiful photos! As you go through the country I'd be interested in hearing your take on what it's like as far as crowds go. Iceland has been on my list for years but I have heard tourism has been growing something like 30% per year lately. I imagine where you will be going would be off the beaten path so likely less crowded.
