Excellent scenic pictures - I really liked the waterfall. The video of your crossing was done extremely well - enjoyed that most!
You're living a dream - inspiration for many of us.

Yes, the drone is partially linked to look in direction of the remote control and keep a constant angle with it. But I still had to move it manually to find a good start angle and after the ford crossing.

Gotta love the drone shot just because of the scenery but it also gives a nice perspective of the van itself. I have a Mavic and have got some nice videos but feel free to post more of those if you have any. How do they handle flight requirements in Iceland Claude? Do you have to register?

Thanks Dave.

I will post some more in next updates.

In Iceland, you have to write your name and address on the drone itself. That's about all excepted that it's prohibited to fly in most of the touristic sites and in national parks.

Where can I see your video? Could be fun to see those.

Thanks Claude. Seems like we're in the middle of some regulation here in the US. I have yet to get any great video stitched together mainly because I suck at video processing and am still learning. I do have a couple stills in my album of a lake I camp at from time to time.

I look forward to seeing more of your aerial stuff.

Claude,

Awesome post.

Great images of your trip too.

You mention that Iceland has banned boondocking. So, are you still able to boondock there in certain places? If not, where do you camp at? Looks to me you are pretty far out away from everything by your images.

For me, being a professional photographer I would want to be able to stay at a location and scout the area as well as going out early in the morning and late in the evening to get those killer sunrise and sunset shots...

Also the crowd and tourist thing would kill me... I would have to get out away from everything too.

Your video is awesome too... I need to get a drone.

Yes, from January 2019, boondocking will be banned. That's a real shame as in highlands, there won't be any alternative than sleeping outlaw if you want to stay close to some places at sunset or sunrise. As it's difficult to hide when you have to stay on trails, you can just hope for no ranger to see you...
