Weather is nice in AZ who's up for a trip?

Arizona/Phoenix area SMBers--the weather is perfect now for an overnight trip somewhere in our beautiful state. Don't have a specific itinerary yet, but somewhere Sedona area or on the rim before it gets cold? Anyone up for an overnighter or couple of nights out in the SMB?

Lol! Before it gets colder? We are cruising around AZ and it is freezing cold near Grand Cyn and Monuments Valley. Literally snowing today and 40 deg high. But dang it is sure beautiful and nearly no one around. Hiked to bottom of the GC and spent three wonderful nights camping down there.

We will be in Sedona later this week, Painted Desert and Canyon de Chelly before that. We will be with friends in Scottsdale this coming weekend, then on to Long Beach for Thksgvg.

If you are rigged for cold temps, it is a great time to be out here!

We are headed down to Patagonia this weekend. We are staying at the State Park so the old lady has a shower. Was thinking of a trip the weekend after Thanksgiving. Open to ideas.

I'll be bumming around after The race in Baja, if I don't stay in Mexico, I'd be up for something after Thanksgiving

Re: Weather is nice in AZ who's up for a trip?

Living at 6000 feet in New Mexico, whenever it gets cold we head to Roosevelt Lake north of Globe and East of the Phoenix Metro. The sonoran desert is beautiful, the biking and hiking is great and it is little used until March. For the rest of this year you can stay using the "Tonto Pass" available locally at $6 per night ($3 if your an "old guy"). Starting in 2016 the rates go up to $16 (or $8) per night. Still a good deal, all sites are "no hookup" but solar heated showers are included. We will be there next week, probably at Windy Hill, Coati Loop. Look us up!

I have been given the ok for a trip after Thanksgiving. Depending on situation, can bring motorcycle or not if more aggressive trails.
