Re: West of LV, East of LA

2-gone,

jstanley edited his post AFTER I posted mine. If you noticed that, it would make a lot more sense. I really don't need to start my own thread about hunting. It is not a topic I would ever initiate a conversation about. All I did was respond to another one here. No, thanks, I'd rather not become a politician (?). What exactly is a big 'ol mean looking font? All I did was bold my replies to differentiate them from the comments I was responding to, which is a very common and clear way of replying to an email or a forum post Sorry, but I don't understand most of your reply or why you seem to not like anything I say.

Re: West of LV, East of LA

While it is sadly still legal to drive an SMB, it is disgusting to hear that.

CO2? That's not the worst problem. The Hydrocarbons is. It poisons the ground, groundwater, fauna and flora.

Sorry if I sound like a pompous ass - I'm just trying to fit in.

When folks turn a trip report into their own personal op-ed page, I'd recommend just ignoring them.

Hunting in the Mojave Natl. Preserve is legal. Target shooting or plinking is not.

No further elaboration needed.

jstanley, thanks for the report and pics. I enjoy exploring that area.

Re: West of LV, East of LA

I love the Mojave Desert. I explore, camp and photograph there all the time. I support organizations and efforts to preserve and maintain it for our pleasure, and for the habitat of native plants and animals. Aren't we on the same page about this? What I don't understand is that when I simply and briefly expressed my opinion on one topic, and directed them to the National Parks page of regulations, it enraged some people enough to have them call me a pompous ass while mocking my post, a jackass, and then making up stuff I never said about rednecks or something like that. Please re-read your posts and notice your over-reaction here. No need to be so auto-defensive. There was nothing offensive comin' at you. Yet there was a lot comin' at me. So may folks on internet forums find it so easy to instantly lash out at anyone with a different opinion than their own, clouding their ability to read or understand what was was actually stated by the person they can't wait to shred (present company excluded!). Why is that? Relax those trigger fingers, guys.

Yes, please do. I'm interested in your trip, your shared interest in hunting and learning more about the area.

The Mojave Preserve is a great place to camp. You can see some pictures in my gallery starting at the bottom of page 27 to page 30. Here is the link:

Re: West of LV, East of LA

Back on track, here are a couple of images from the area or a bit more south. The last one is actually from Anza Borrego, closer to San Diego. I do need to get out there more and shoot some grander landscapes .....
