Jebus! You’re gonna spend more on fuel getting it home than you did purchasing the van. Are you sure all the fuel is making into the carburetor? [emoji12]
I’m gonna guess it’s a three speed with 4.10’s out back so you’re probably nearing 2750rpms at 60-65mph? I’d guess her sweet spot, maybe, would be closer to 50mph....

Those mopar big blocks aren't known for their great fuel economy, but they are hard to kill.
A former GF had a 1978 B100 C class that I put a few thousand miles on, as I recall, FE never got better than 11mpg, but it was hard to be consistent with fueling because of the huge flat tank, variances in gas station pad angles and the like. The other thing is those rigs were bilt when the US was still on a national 55mph max speed limit law, geared for 55mph. Drive 65-70 and the FE plummets.
I love the whine given off by the mopar reduction gear starters. Makes me smile for some reason.

also, the California fuel is crap for FE, too much ethanol in it. My old 460 Ford always got 10% better FE with Nevada gas.

Just east of SLC...
7.3 mpg
Stumbling coming up the big hill on I80. Pulled off for gas. Big woosh on opening. PO warned me about low tank power issues.
Assume the tank is not venting.
Onwards...

8.13 mpg. Same speed.
Needs a 09 and up 5.7L Hemi and a 518 overdrive tranny.

Sounds about right. Big engine, and you're punching a big hole in the air. I wonder if a fairing would help?

Fairing would help, but I've got a bit of a gut...
Made it to Cheyenne, WY today. Over 1000 miles in 22 hours.
The uphill cutting out continued until I bought an electric fuel pump, filters, wire, and gas line.
Running smooth now as the sun went down and because I threatened pump surgery.
Steak and a salad here in Cheyenne. Now back to a gas station and onto the road.
Cheers,
G.
