6.0 Diesel snorkel build

It has been a while since I wanted to install a cyclonic pre-filter on VivaLaVida. Past weeks, I finally built a snorkel and I'm pleased to share how I did it there.

Basically, I modified the OEM airbox by closing the original air intake behind the light and building a canal to the left wall of the engine bay where I cut an opening. I built an intermediate part from that opening to the foot of the windshield pillar, where the outside part of the snorkel goes through the fender.
All what I built is made of polyethylene, a very strong material easy to weld.

Very nicely done. It looks professionally made. Does it block much of your vision from the driver's seat?

Thanks Herb. No, not at all. When I'm on the driver seat, the pipe is almost hidden behind the windshield pillar, at least for its three lower quarters. I can only really see the pipe in the upper left corner where it goes toward the center of the van to avoid the cyclonic to be too much exposed to tree branches.

I'm impressed as well - professional & sleek - certainly makes the van look like a serious off road machine.
Have to say though, I would hate see you have to make use of it.

Love it!!! Now you need to design me one for my 7.3L . I would love to just get cooler cleaner air if nothing else with the horrible center location of the stock airbox.
