Ken -

I live in the east bay in San Ramon, so I may take you up on the offer.

I don't recall a meeting up at Kirkwood (or ever having my van up there). Must be someone else.

Phil

What about replacing the existing tank with one of the larger tank options?

I think I remember a 16 gal and 20 gal option..... (we are going with the 20)

This would seem to simplify (eliminate) the plumbing issues.

I'd be really curious to see how a 16 or 20 gallon fits under the couch. There is steel framework that would prohibit one big tank. I wonder if there 16 and 20 gallon options are really two tanks? Anyone with a "50" layout and a 16 or 20 gallon configuration want to share what the install looks like?

I would take a picture of our 16 gallon tank in the SMB, but it's 10 below zero F and dropping this evening out there in the driveway. It will have to wait until springtime!

From looking a pipvi's original photo of the 10 gallon tank under the benchseat in an "50" floorplan, our larger tank extends about 6 to 8 inches further to the right under the seat. The open space to the right (driver's side) of the tank is just big enough for a camera tripod or two, but not much else.

So you're saying the metal support thing is also more to the right; that the actual seat construction is different?

Dang it kzemach, now you made me do it! I had to go out in the blizzard and take a look at our SMB's fresh water tank.

The 16 gallon tank is 16" wide from left to right, and the open space to the driver's side is 14" wide. I could not see the horizontal black support (running from front to rear) visible in pipvi's bench seat photo at the start of this thread. But it was dark and cold as hell at 12.8 degrees below zero! There might be a support further to the back of the seat, but I couldn't see it with the light from my headlamp.

We have the regular EB-50 bench seat floor layout, with a propane furnace taking up much of the left rear passenger's side under the seat and bed.

I will see if I can take a pic in the next several days when the temp is supposed to get back up to the plus 20s.

Well Ed, now you made me go out in 45 degree weather to take some rough measurements. I would guess that your tank fits between the couch supports and your heater ducts are routed differently than mine. There's 17-18ish inches between the supports (didn't look too closely). With vent and some electrical re-work, I could put a much bigger tank between the supports.

Hmmmm .... so many options.

Stay warm!

Thanks -
Phil
