Aluminess side ladder noise

Installed the Aluminess side ladder on the driverís side of my 06 E350. Have a definite humming/whirring while driving. I was thinking of wrapping paracord around the side rungs as a start to attempt to get rid of/defuse the noise. I searched here but didnít find any other suggestions for this but thought maybe I missed something. So Iím looking for suggestions before I start the paracord option. Thanks.

Never heard of a ladder making noise. But people do swear by the paracord for roof racks, so give it a shot!

You must not have a diesel.

Glad to hear the paracord option is a possibility. Thanks. Iíll post the results. Interstingly enough,it is a 6.0 diesel. That should give an indication of how loud the howling is.

Heh, yep. Buy more aggressive tires! The noise will be gone.

Ladder noise solved

Did the cord trick around the forward vertical rail of the ladder and worked like a charm. Intended to wrap paracord around the whole vertical rung but tried a simple wrap around with a bungee, and bingo. And, an emergency bengee on hand...Thanks for the help.

Yep, the cord trick works amazingly well! Rack bars, etc.
