Awning Removal Instructions?

My wife and I just bought a 2002 Dodge 3500 RB50 penthouse. We live in a condo half a year. No RVs allowed in parking lot. I showed the board what I was looking for, and got verbal commitments that this is more of a conversion van. However, what I showed them did not include an awning. To keep the peace and look more stealth, I want to remove the awning. How do I remove the awning without leaving noticeable holes on the outside, and without mutilating the interior on the inside? Thanks for your help.

Awning Removal Instructions?

Assuming it has the standard SMB awning brackets, what I did was remove the brackets and put bolts back in the outside holes, and paint the heads to match the van color (white). On the Ford vans SMB used basically nut inserts through the outside skin, and there is nothing to mess with inside (I.e., no nuts on the inside walls or anything). Still noticeable if you look closely, but from 10 feet away it blends in pretty well.
