Thanks guys for the info... right now I'm leaning towards a matte wrap on the hood vs paint/plastidip and most likely a Line-X/Rhino liner on the rocker panels. I raptor lined my ph this summer with good success but with all of the masking etc... I will prob pay to get the rockers done professionally.

Still need to get the fenders repainted/clearcoated too - gotta love the never ending money pit....

We have the same black wrap and we now have a lot of discoloration, like grey splotches all over. this happened rapidly after a camp trip in WY. No bad weather some wind, not sand blowing. Contacted Sportsmobile and they were of no help or support just stating it was odd and a 3M wrap and to try to have it detailed. I don’t think it can be rubbed out, tried some vinyl treatment on a small area and it did nothing. Anyone else have any problems with theirs? Any suggestions othe that a new wrap and if so is that throwing good money after bad?

School buses often have black hoods. Easy.

Look into 3M Wrap film series 1080. Matte black color is M12. It's 7 year outdoor rated vehicle wrap vinyl/film.

I wrapped my Tacoma 5-ish years back with it and it's held up really well. Sure, its slightly faded, but its an even fade across the whole vehicle so you cant really tell unless you compare it to a new piece of vinyl.

Applying the film It took some patience and finesse but after a few panels I got the hang of it. A blowtorch and squeegee really came in handy.

I don't think the hood of a van would be too tricky to apply it to. They don't have the contours that some of the Tacoma panels have.

Also, the nice thing about the film doesn't instantly stick on contact like most vinyl and also provides an air release for bubbles. So you can stick it and then pick it back up if need be or easily squeegee bubble off the sides.
