DIY TransferFlow Fuel Tank Install

Last Fall my Buddy and I installed the Transfer Flow Replace Fule Tank ourselves.
It was a B*TCH but we did it!

It's been functional for the last 6 months and the extra fuel has been a welcome.

The Transferflow was for a 97' Quigley with 97 bolt patterns and we had to improvise by finding a 97 complete Fuel pump assembly and replace it with 96' Pump / Fuel Sender Unit. Also the check valve on a 97 is in a different location on a 96'. On a 96' the check valve is in with the 96' Pump / Fuel Sender Unit. On a 97' it somewhere in the front outside of the fuel tank.

Here are some pics of what we had to go thru.

This is the Fuel Check valve we ended up using. Nice and Small.
The Fuel Check Valve basically cures the problem of the second engine restart after stopping and making sure there is fuel pressure in the line other wise the fuel goes back in the tank and it doesn't start until you crank the engine over and over till there is enough fuel pressure.

The Fuel Tanks: 96 Quigley Stock (All Quigley's have chopped Tanks), 97 (nice one from Junk Yard), and the Brand New TransferFlow:

Is it going to FIT???

It DID and perfectly.

I'm missing the finished Pic.. I'll find it and upload it later.

I don't need to use this mod, but THANKS! I love that you took the time to do that; am sure someone will get good usage from it.

Yup, it did take alot of time and the tank wasn't cheap.
I think I did that DIY project over a week long vacation.
I had an issue with a micro leak on the fuel hose from the fuel tank to the filler.

That Micro puncture in the fuel filler hose was actually the cause of the Sportsmobile smelling funny in the cabin when camped. It got progressively worse but we finally found out what it was.. At first I thought it had to do with the fuel cap, even changing it, but that wasn't it.

It took the effort of removing the fuel tank to find that leak and we took the opportunity to replace every fuel hose with the best fuel hoses you can get. We also had the opportunity to patch that custom SMB hack job of a cut that we found between the cabin floor and from below near the fuel tank. The fumes were collecting underneath and the wood patch just doesn't stop the fumes..

Since we figured out how to take the fuel tank out, the transferflow was also an upgrade I wanted to do.

In my case, we had to do it ourselves..It can be done.
