DIY TransferFlow Fuel Tank Install
Last Fall my Buddy and I installed the Transfer Flow Replace Fule Tank ourselves.
It was a B*TCH but we did it!
It's been functional for the last 6 months and the extra fuel has been a welcome.
The Transferflow was for a 97' Quigley with 97 bolt patterns and we had to improvise by finding a 97 complete Fuel pump assembly and replace it with 96' Pump / Fuel Sender Unit. Also the check valve on a 97 is in a different location on a 96'. On a 96' the check valve is in with the 96' Pump / Fuel Sender Unit. On a 97' it somewhere in the front outside of the fuel tank.
Here are some pics of what we had to go thru.
This is the Fuel Check valve we ended up using. Nice and Small.
The Fuel Check Valve basically cures the problem of the second engine restart after stopping and making sure there is fuel pressure in the line other wise the fuel goes back in the tank and it doesn't start until you crank the engine over and over till there is enough fuel pressure.
The Fuel Tanks: 96 Quigley Stock (All Quigley's have chopped Tanks), 97 (nice one from Junk Yard), and the Brand New TransferFlow:
