Ford Transit Connect Camper Conversion

Our camper is based on the Ford Transit Connect

Long Wheel Base (LWB) version only
Wagon model, commercial van version pending (as thsi involves a full interior)
Trim Levels XL, XLT and Titanium
Stock roof line only. The Titanium trim offers a factory panorama sunroof as an option, we are not converting this version currently
Prefer the tailgate version but can also convert twin rear door models

Whoa --- and it's the "baby Transit" (Transit Connect) no less!

Pretty sweet.
For that size/capacity, I wonder if those Transit Connects are a better "mini adventure vehicle" choice for an Ursa Minor pop-top than a clean/low-mile Honda Element 4WD would be.

Side note...
Gotta say I'm amazed that nobody (including Honda) has brought out a proper follow-up vehicle to something like the discontinued Element yet. Such a great/versatile little contraption! Really seems like a sweet spot in the marketplace that's being totally neglected.

I was actually surfing around looking at Elements / Ursa Minor Elements just for fun when I came across the Transit.

Agree that the Element-like vehicle seems like an underserved market.

Yup this is awesome. I always thought they should do all the mini versions like the NV200 as well.

I've talk to Derek & our GM several times but nothing in the works yet. We did & have the mold to do the Nissan NV200. Pictures on our IG.

If I ever bought a jeep that would be the first thing to go on it. Love there products & think they charge a fair price.

Those pop tops on a Transit Connect diesel would be a pretty sweet camper!

I briefly considered an Element, until I discovered they get the same gas mileage as the F150 2.7L. A transit connect with good tires will probably go anywhere a element and it's nearly worthless AWD would go.

These are really neat. I wonder if any of the actual manufacturers are looking at camper van setups with a pop top. I have to think the first one to that dance will make some money if #vanlife, bacon and sriracha are still popular with the hipsters.

I think it is still too niche for a big auto manufacturer to bring a pop top to market.

I do like that recon’s pop top is able to be lifted fully from inside. Not sure that Ursa’s is capable of that. Nonetheless, Ursa has a good pricepoint and I would love to see more vehicle options (4runner, new Defender if it retains its traditional offroad capabilities, etc).

This one is quite capable. But then, everything is a compromise.
