Mini Bike for my SMB
Folks
Am reseaching a small mini bike to put on the front of the rig
Small
Light weight
Of course dirt road capable
Two seater would be good (combined me and wife is only 300#)
Mountain bikes on the back Aluminess box
Thinking a small mini bike would be handy
Any thoughts?

Re: Mini Bike for my SMB
No recommendations, but keep in mind that you'll be blocking air flow to your radiator.

Re: Mini Bike for my SMB
Yah, that much.
But, you may be ok with the V-10. Diesels have a big problem getting air out of the radiator through the densely packed engine comparts. Your results may vary.
Several of us have had problems with aftermarket bumpers and overheating. I don't know what your bumper is, nor have I heard of overheating with gas engines. Maybe I just haven't paid attention.

Re: Mini Bike for my SMB
How about a Pit Bike? I was thinking of using a Pit Bike for a scout. I never really thought of putting it on the front hitch, I was leaning towards using the rear hitch instead. Just a thought.

No question my new aluminess front bumper is causing some heat problems. I'm going to try a few steps to improve airflow.
If you're putting the mountain bikes on the aluminess box, why not just use a hitch carrier for a mini bike? An old Honda trail 70 would be ideal. Small/light/fun and indestructable.

Re: Mini Bike for my SMB
I have a old Z50 Honda and they are good and there are curently alot of China built replicas out there for less than 1000.00. The bike that rides in the Van is a DiBlasi folding scooter that I got in Italy about 10yrs ago. Only weighs in at 65lbs and folds very small.
I would also look at a Yamaha Zuma (50, or the New to the US 125) or if the weight is not that important a Yamaha TW200.
