Mounting exterior driving lights and GoLight

^Looking to do something similar to the above pic.

I have four 8" HID Solatek driving lights and one Golight.

My plan was to buy a pair of Yakima 1a rain gutter towers, mount them over the cab and mount the lights on the 66" round bar. Didn't want to mount the lights on the penthouse because I didn't want to add more weight to it.

1) What clamps/brackets have you had success with?

2) Better to power the lights with car battery or house battery?

Thanks!

Re: Exterior driving light/Golight mounting bracket for roun

I'm thinking you will get a lot of vibration and light bounce that is annoying when driving.

That is the idea. It sounds like ConFerr is out of business but there are other manufactures out there. I think Warrior may have some.

Tapatio showed me this. Looks turnkey.

Can anyone confirm that an e350 and f350 are the same width between rain gutters?

FWIW, I'll never deal with eTrailer after my first purchase there. Had an issue with the product within the first 30 days, and their only response was 'go deal with the manufacturer' to see if I could get any support.

Re: Exterior driving light/Golight mounting bracket for roun

Well that Carr light bar was a joke. It can't hold any weight. We (tapatio mostly) put up my four 8" hid baja design lights and golight but the bar wobbles to no end.

So we took the 8" lights off and left the golight.

No I'm contemplating whether to return the Carr light bar and go the Con-ferr heavy duty clamps with rectangular steel tubing route so I can put back those 8" lights.

Or just adding two 20" led light bars to either side of the golight on my Carr light bar.

Decisions...

Re: Exterior driving light/Golight mounting bracket for roun

Why the movement? Too small of a surface clamp? Is there room to add a second bar behind the first and lash them together?

SMB has installed a similar bar I've seen made (I think) by Aluminess that looks very sturdy.
