Thanks Arctic!
I agree. I use West Marine all the time mainly because my familiarity with boating products, plus the majority is designed to withstand the elements....Although, don't believe Pschitt would have found a snorkel for his van. Just saying.

Ref-great work on your van and rebuild.
Is it much quieter with the re-insulate?
Also since its a 7.3, which I have too, how are you EGT's without an intecooler?
I find it difficult to keep the EGTs at 1200 or below during the summer and going up a grade.

Yeah, I see how that sounds. I meant cheaper than making it or having it made.

Thanks for the links Jeff, I ended up picking up a 1.5” Bladex waste gate valve with 2 flanges to fit on either side to try out, like the ones used for dumping grey water. I’ll place this up in the pop top so we can regulate the flow from there. I’ll post pics when I install
Speaker box build....
Did I already post this? Anyway....
The speaker pods I had ordered were just too big and bulky to be mounted below the platform bed. I went back to the drawing board and decided to utilize the speakers I had, but still wanted them up and out of the door. Here’s the solution to be mounted up below the platform, the box does not go below the rear trim, so things are tucked up nice and tidy. I incorporated an open center shelf between the speakers.

Front lip so things stay put, this is the orientation as it will sit up against the bottom of the platform, the back gets captured by the rear trim

I’ll get this all installed hopefully tomorrow, so it’ll all make more sense where it all goes.

Its difficult to keep complimenting the work & progress without using the same descriptives - But, it would be a bigger tragedy not saying anything...Great work!
Your updates are like waiting for your favorite program to come out with the next new episode, will be disappointing when you finish with this thread.

I agree completely. I'm geeking out regularly on this thread though. I have completely gotten lost in 'the zone' of several van builds and re-dos over the years and my wife hates it but I know exactly what REF is experiencing and I miss it sometimes. The destination is the journey sometimes but it can't go on forever.

Looking great REF!

I just did a floor in a friends E-series and used your method with the Bedrug. It worked out great!
