My big fat interior (re)build

I wish I were a bit further along with the interior at this point but I have been assured that things from this point on go together quickly, and will get done next week on time for me to shove off on the 10th.....or 11th[emoji51]
I was at Boulder offroad today where we dropped the tank to fit in the Espar pickup

There happened to be an open fitting with a push/turn plug in place, you can see it covered in sand in the photo above to the right of the diesel pickup unit, not sure what it was for but was unused and was the right size so made sense to use it

Tell me about that wall fabric.

Thanks

I keep reminding him it's a camping trip. Even if he doesn't have a full interior, we can still have a hell of a good time.

True. But he is going to need a fuel tank installed!

Not an optional part!!

I have ran a fuel line into a gas can and driven miles but highly don’t recommend it!!

My big fat interior (re)build

Oh you guys.....
Well, the last few weeks have been filled with ups and downs, long hours, battling a cold, flying solo and doing double duty with the wife out of town...again.
Still pushing towards making the journey to Baja, maybe leaving a day or 2 later than planned and with a few things left unfinished if it happens at all, but hoping the majority of the interior will be done by the end of this week. Then there’s the task of packing everything back into the van plus provisions.
We installed the 2nd battery on the drivers side where the propane tank sat and ran the crossover. Here’s the new #1 battery going into the original location with all new cables with a new circuit breaker that did not exist before.

Anyway, Matt was able to sort the tangle of electrical mess and make things look like a proper DC panel, it turns out there was a lot of runs that were spliced together or not properly routed and a second fused distribution block was needed.
There’s a bit going on here...

The wall panels are back in after running all the electrical, the lower cabs are in and it’s ready to get scanned for the upper cab back wall contours. We worked on getting the water system together and I managed to cut in a big hole for the Espar D2

Upper cab design will be finalized and hopefully cut and put together and maybe installed tomorrow, that will be a huge step.
