Amazon work! I love the idea of the split shelves on the barn doors instead of the one bi shelf that SMB does OEM. I may retrofit something like that on mine.

Thanks for saving me from myself and keeping my fantasies in check !
The reality of me pulling this off to this level is not my reality.

My hat's off to you Braddah. Excellent work.

Good Luck, God Bless and many Happy Trails to you !

Having seen Ricks van in person now, I can honestly say he had to have spent many years planning all the little details. His design work is some of the best I've seen and should serve his family well for many years. Thanks again for the hospitality.

Thanks all, good to see you Jeff, thanks for the props, looking forward to meeting up in AK this summer.
I hope to wrap this thread up someday soon.....much to the dismay of many that have been following, although there’s always more to do, so who knows, I may just keep it going! I’ve got a few more things to complete and tweak a few that I’ve done. I’ve recently moved onto projects in our Lance travel trailer to get that ready for our adventures...

My big fat interior (re)build

Thanks all....that’s a tall order!
A few updates, like I said there’s always more.....
New Renogy panels....Thank you Ray(1der) for all your help installing, I always seem to have projects going on when he comes through town!
We moved my single existing Kyocera 135W that was on the van over to the Lance to add to the 160W it came with...that’s a whole other story, ended well, but came with a host of unfortunate snags.
Here’s the 2 new 100W panels installed....along with the new vent cover for the fantastic fan, no more rattling....nice!!

Finally got around to getting the cargo lights installed today, these are on the same circuit as the under platform lights and are the same ribbon LED’s placed inside an aluminum channel with lens covers. An area that is definitely needing illumination, no longer the black hole!

I had to come up with another solution for the lower flip down doors, the snaps weren’t holding. I went with neodymium magnets, 2 round ones epoxied to the flip down door, and 2 ring ones epoxied to the washers, this way the screws to remove are still accessible. Proved to be a much better system and provides a nice strong positive hold, love these things!

And here’s the new curtains installed, went with double fabric for a finished look on both sides, a bit stiff but works. Installed new tracks and sliders too

Your lighting plan is the most well thought out and executed of any I've ever seen. Hell, even your house lighting is spectacular. I've worked with a number of professional lighting designers, I'm sure they would give you a job.

It has all come together with impressive results - lot of good application & solutions in your Thread that will benefit many down the road. I took away more than a couple great ideas, and the magnets to secure the door shelves is simplicity at its finest. Its been fun following your progress - Great stuff!

This will be a interesting project to follow to completion.
I have a 2003 Ford E 350 EB-50, 7.3, Quigley 4X4, Penthouse Top 260,00 miles. I purchased it March 10, 2003 at the Long beach Outdoor Show $65,996.00
I'm totally satisfied with my SMB from Fresno. Now in to 17 years of no issues with the SMB install. I have replaced the refrigerator. All other systems have worked flawlessly.
I did refresh the cabinet doors with bright white paint. All systems are go.
I have 2 issues: the Quigley conversion should have come with info about the bolt pattern and "death wobble".......and the rear doors are in not air tight.....dust storms inside were worse that the real deal outside.
Being older (now) I find my factory stock EB-50 just fine.
I will say that my interior looks a lot better that your's as seen in picture #1.
I'm a happy camper or VAN'er........not sure if you saw the recent post of the $168,000 custom build out.......if not look it up....it's what you get if you have unlimited funds.
Are you going to make MEXICO, BAJA? Where do you go? I have been thinking about venturing that way but still gun shy.
