Question for those who have installed artificial rain gutter for roof racks

I'm about to drill into my roof and install Yakims widebody brackets. I bought a Yakima Skybox 18 and plan on hauling 100 pounds of gear. That with the weight of the box is 160lbs. The hardware that came with the mounts doesn't seem very stout. Are the small washers that go on the inside sufficient or should I make backing plates?

Are you talking about drilling into your penthouse top? I have the Yakima rails on my penthouse top with the standard washers in all the bolt holes. I think there was 8 or 10 per rail. Is that what your asking?
