Recaro Seats for SMBs

Anyone every played with the idea of putting these seats on the SMB? They look like they would be easier to swivel and more comfy perhaps.

Ray

Re: Recaro Seats for SMBs

We seriously considered it due to my wife's back issues. An auto shop in nearby Berkeley sold them and we tried them out and they were very comfortable. (We were somewhat familiar with them since the Turtle Expedition vehicle was fitted with them.) However, they were also very expensive and we finally decided against it. We did, however, change out the original Ford seats for some others that we had installed in a van conversion shop...

Re: Recaro Seats for SMBs

They are planned for my van. Will have to figure out how to fasten them on a swivel plate
Had some in a previous 4x4, good support and depending on the model they have medium to firm foams.

Re: Recaro Seats for SMBs

got more info on those?
I need to find another seat solution to provide more support for the wheelchair guys I take out.
It would be great to have something already setup for 4 pt harnesses but if not I can still make them work.

tell me more

Re: Recaro Seats for SMBs

It looks like the Recaro LXF is the one GoWesty sells:

http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=3441&region=0&L=2

And on the Recaro website, it lists E-350 as a vehicle the seat fits. It is not clear about the swivel function.

Re: Recaro Seats for SMBs

Thanks for the specific link Mike. I may shoot an email to SMB west if installation w/ a swivel is possible.

Lance,
Check ont the Recaro site the tuning section:
http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=2135&region=3&L=2

You will see there the seats designed for the 4pt harness.

I have the Recaro speed for the offroader and have similar to the Recaro expert for the LC80 but never got to install them.

Mike, thanks for the link

Ray, It may need to take a swivel base and adapt the Recaro on it. That is how I see it

Re: Recaro Seats for SMBs

I looked at them but I went with Corbeau Seats and put them on swivels. Are you the arm rest for $200 I can add them to both seats. The Corbeau's only cost me $650 for both so there much savings to be had going this way... They were very easy to but in, strait forward!!

I will take a picture of the new seats that I changed them to, much happier!!!
