Replace your Candescent with Thin-Lites Fluorescent
Replaced the main candescent lights interior Penthouse lights with Thin-Lites White/Red Fluorescent Lites a few quarters ago.
I included a few pics for folks who want to see what it looks like.
The Red really works well with the bugs..and is stealthy.

So the one unit provides Red and/or White light?
What was involved in the switching?

It's got two bulbs, one bulb on each side. The Red one is actually a white Fluorescent with a red sleeve.
The switch is a 3 way, left turns on the white lite, and middle is off, and right turns on the Red Lite.

Were you able to just replace the bulbs, or did you have to swap the housing as well?

I rather have LED's so bugs aren't attracted ... anyone replaced these with LED's?

It must be wishful thinking on my part. I read it as he had replaced the fluorescents with LEDs. Clearly that's not what he wrote, not matter how much I wish it was.

Sorry for the mislead, I replaced the whole housing with a new Thin Lite Housing.
I did replace the bulbs on the side lights with LED's (white and yellow).
By the way, the white LED bulbs still attract bugs; the yellow's and red's don't.
