Starcool cabin system does not put out cooled air

Sorry for a beginner's question, but the Starcool in our '04 Ford Sportsmobile is not putting out cool air when we're parked and connected to park power.

When we turn on the Starcool system, turn on the blower and set the thermostat, the compressor under the van body is running as is the dashboard compressor and the blower is also working, but the air doesn't cool. When we're on the road with both the dashboard and the Starcool running, the dashboard puts out plenty of cool air.

Does the Starcool cabin system have a seperate coolant tank that may be low on coolant ? We're in Jacksonville Fl. and nowhere near a Sportsmobile shop. The local Camping World franchise won't work on the Starcool, so we're getting no help there.

3. When engine off and switch by drivers head in correct position, plugged into shore power rear fan works but air is not cool suggests under chassis compressor not switching on

Search the Wiki (link on main page) for the Starcool manual. There is a diagram and troubleshooting tree in it. Like mentioned, one coolant line so cold dash air indicates freon is good. The Starcool compressor only works when plugged in. I would check the reset and breakers.

Has it worked differently in the past under the same conditions?
Only expect the cab to be about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than outside. The best was for it to cool is to start it in the morning and run it full blast all day while keeping the van in shade. If you do that you may be able to maintain a upper 70 cab temp in 100 degree weather. The unit works much better while driving.



If the valve relay that separates the system does not work you might have problems.
You should be able to hear the rear compressor start but it doesn't mean it's working correctly. Line in voltage should be above 116 vAC.
Make sure the lower fan is turning and the condensor is clean from mud.
