Yeah, working on vans................lately. I still have a night job, too.
I'm here now. Glad it's slow so I can rest from working on vans all weekend.

I would love to order a set if it's not too late yet, Gooseberry.

Thanks

I have to say I received my set today from Gooseberry and they are perfect. Nice quality part that is far better then what sportsmobile is placing on their tops. Now I got to get to work on my project

Put me on the list for some nuts 🤗

Hello Gooseberry,

Please don't forget that I want a set of your nuts also when you have a new batch in. Now that sounds weird!!!!!!!!!

Gooseberry,

Coincidentally I just posted a thread on this subject today and was directed to this thread.

I would be interested in a set if you have them.

Thanks.

I forgot to follow up here but I just installed a set of these and they are fantastic.

Remember two things, USE the supplied antiseize when threading the nylock nut on the long bolts supplied. If you don't the friction from threading up the long bolt will cause it to seize. This happened to me on my first one because I was using an electric drill to spin the nut up faster, creating too much heat and it seized. I was able to cut it off above the seized nut and thread another nut, no problem. Be careful with stainless though. I recommend the antiseize and a manual ratchet. I used a regular hacksaw to cut off the excess. I was afraid to use a cutoff wheel and shoot so many sparks inside the new canvas. It was time consuming but cleaner.

Thanks again Goose! Awesome product.

So I just took 2 of the bolts out to see what it is going to take to replace them. Both bolts and washers were rusted and the diameter of the bolts had been reduced to 60% of their original 1/4" measurement.

I didn't want to put the rusty pieces back in so I went to West Marine to get some stainless steel parts.

Just for reference, the 3" bolts were $1.09 each, the nylock nuts were $.40 each.

They didn't have the correct size washers but the smaller washers were $2.09 each. I assume that the larger washers would be closer to $3.00.

Therefore, the price that Gooseberry has been charging for a fully assembled fastener looks like a great deal and is a cleaner finish than the SWB original parts.
