The Mystery of the Smooth PH Top and Invisible Tee Nuts

So--I bought a 2006 EB SMB, sight unseen, that was in Virginia. It is a very nice rig; lightly used at 40,000 miles, and I'm quite happy with it. Somehow, however, 86Scotty got his hands on it, and now it's in his driveway.

OK, he didn't run off with it--he actually was kind enough to go pick it up for me.

But back to the main story. The PH top is smooth. No grooves. There is only a single Tee nut, at the back. And the interior surface of the PH top is covered with carpet.

Has anyone else seen a setup like this? If so, what do you know about how the mounting blocks for the PH lift mechanism are fastened to the PH top?

Thanks.

Probably built at the Indiana site. I know they were using smooth tops for several years.

Yes, it was built by SMB North.

But how are the mounting blocks for the PH lift mechanism fastened to the top without Tee nuts? Does anyone know?
