Revisiting this old thread since I'm soon to mount up a new OBA system.
Jack's idea above is the best I've figured out. I'm about to have Aluminess front and rear bumpers with storage ports (which aren't weatherproof but are at least not out in the open) and I might go that route.
I've also thought about rigging a single coupler up inside my fuel door hatch. There's a good bit of open room around the fuel fill on E-series vans.
I put a coupler out in the weather on my wife's Jeep and it works fine so far with a cane rubber tip but they are not at all UV stable and break down to bits in a few months if exposed to direct sunlight.
It kind of baffles me in the world of trendy, expensive offroad bits that someone hasn't thought up a bulletproof air line coupler for off road rigs.
