Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

^Nice!

I started Plasti-Dipping my wheels. Easy so far and they look great. No more chrome left on the SMB.

Also took of the sway bar since I noticed a sheared off the pass. side upper stud. Ground off the old welded stud and fabbed a new one. Now time to weld the new one in.

Have you considered making the swaybar 'quick-disconnectable'? I know a lot of 4x4 offroad guys do this to their Jeeps to get a little more flex, keeping all 4 tires on the ground when the trail gets more technical. Reconnect it when getting back on pavement for better road manners. I looked at doing that to mine, it's on the looooong laundry list under 'nice to have'

The SMB 4x4 has disconnects on their setup. I was just lazy and didn't disconnect it for a section of pretty rough (twisty) road. Apparently the years of stress on the bolt finally led to it failing.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

I've busted those off six times now. I pull the disconnects on any really rough trail these days.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

we also have sheared on three different occasions and now disconnect when running in a broken landscape , my guess is that some of us are more prone to breakage from weight born issues .

Pulled my old coolant/air heat exchanger and replaced it with an Espar Airtronic D4. Warm girlfriend = happy girlfriend.
