Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Replaced the Old Man Emu's for some 2.5" Icon Vehicle Dynamics shocks. Smooth body rears and remote reservoir fronts with compression adjustment. Taking a 3 week trip, will report more when I get back.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

The preowner of VAnGO made a front custom bumber, i like it much and as i also have storage in it it was built great. What i am missing was an more adventure look and protection
So i tried to get it with an add on of a "bull bar" > how do you guys call this in the US?

I am thinking of add one more pipe in the middle of the grill?

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Add some truck lite LED headlamps on VAnGO
amazing what different brightness it is to the "normal" once in the night.

unfortunatly i made no befor/after pics but i think there are a lot of threats about LED conversions here in the net.
For me the pos is:
they are much much brighter than the "stock". Never drove them in night by rain up to now but i am shure there it is a really hudge advance.
The cons:
The dark/bright zone is very sharp so while turning sharp it is hard to handle for me. Also the direkt zone in front of the van (about 10ft) is darker than before. So this is a point i hope i will learn to handle it.

Not a SMB but related. Swapped out my mirrors for a set of towing mirrors.
Not a bolt in process since mine is older than 04 but they can be made to fit.

What did you do to your SMB today?

Installed generation two of Mikes steps. The first gen did great and saved me some body damage in last chance canyon. The new version is 1/8 aluminum and has a better profile. I was able to get them done before the rain started YES is raining in SoCal.

Ok one question for all of you. My old steps had aluminum diamond plate at each of the step points like my bumpers. Should put them back on or use skateboard deck tape and keep it black?
