Spare tire access

Am installing an onboard air system. To make access easier I decided to drop my spare tire. Yes it is still in the factory location. Having never had the need to drop het tire before I pulled out the instructions. The thumbscrew that holds the security plate in place was frozen in its threads. Tried using the tire iron as the instructions directed. This only broke the plastic wings on the thumbscrew. Used a pair of channel locks and Torx bit to back it part way out before the screw sheared off. Was glad this happened in the driveway and not on the side of the road.

For those of you that have the spare tire in the factory position you may want to check to see if the thumbscrew turns or is frozen in place.

Mine broke off years ago, and I never did anything about it. So far so good.

Great Idea, I buy the cards at the 99 cent store. This is how I use them...

I would never be so rude as to call you stupid.

But let's just say, if I did, I probably wouldn't be the first.

Nice.. But now you have to redo the carpet! At this rate, it will never be 4x4!

Aw man Sweezy, those are beautiful! Congrats. Just throw a rug over the bare spots. That's what Robb would do.

Nice Sweezy!! Those look great!!

It's 106 here today so it's a great day to work on the van in the driveway. I needed a sweat bath anyway. It was time to install some $$ Spent. This is also the kind of day when you are glad you have a white van.

Fender Flares are a big help in the "tough looking van" department. Eventually all the chrome will be gone and it'll have nerf bars and a rack and bumpers and such. eventually. Replaced the Passenger Side View as well as a big Sage bashed it and it stopped going outward. Was gonna just live with that, but safety is a big concern. Hard enough to see without having you mirrors exactly where they need to be.

These are shop4seats.com something or others with their rotating bases. Black leather to match the bench. Got 4 as eventually this will be a transformer, but I got other priorities.

Rally - Thanks! Dont remind me.

86 - Thats the plan, I picked up a rubber mat to cover the holes and some of the front area for wet and muddy shoes.

Flux - Love those seats man, they look good.
