Went over to rallypanam's house today, who offered to help POR-15 the rusty area around my water inlet. Removed the flare, and noticed the water inlet was "glued" in. Robb chisled it off and a lot of rust came with it. 1der showed up right about then, and we went about discussing how to replace the entire rear quarter panel. Total bummer

redo Lower dash panel
After 10 years of adding on lights and stuff I decided to better organize my switches.
Lower dash panel was about a $100 bucks on Ebay and the rockers $50 or so.
Had to cut away some of the backing plate but no big deal.

That looks sweet! Are they going to an sPod? I got tired of the clutter as well but organized mine between the visors.

Thanks Joe,
No spod they are either individual relays or direct to source.
Yeah I know, it gets kind of messy.
I like what you did, really nice job. ~ Lenny

I also cleaned up my chaotic mess of switches and electric doo-dads in my overhead console. I now have a switch to turn off all accessories ("ACC"), and one ("T") specifically for the tire pressure monitor (which starts complaining when I air down my tires). The coroplast back panel will be replaced with something nicer when I finalize my layout, but for now it's easy to quickly cut and further customize. The TPS is powered by the visor vanity mirror light circuit so it automatically turns on/off with the van ignition.

Hold everything. Before you open a huge can of expensive worms, cut out the worst of the rust, grind down the rest, treat it with POR, then make a patch panel out of some sheet metal. You can rivet it on (for that aircraft look), glue it on, or weld it. If you get really fancy, you can insert it flush and then Bondo it up (in that case it would have to be welded) or you can overlay it and attach it to the original metal with screws, glue or rivets.Paint to match, or Raptor line it. Then sit back, open a few beers and admire your handywork while you spend the next ten years figuring out if you want to spend the money to do a proper repair. Or weld in one of these if you want to do it properly. https://raybuck.com/product/1992-12-...gaAntlEALw_wcB In the meantime, get under your van and see what else is rusting so you can treat it before it starts looking like your rear quarter. Im headed under mine today, after driving for hours on the beach yesterday.

I also changed my power penthouse switch to a setup where I don't have to hold the button down the whole time, but prevents children from accidentally activating it:

gcvt,
When I was under my van I noticed the hole cut for the water line on the inner wall and an inch or more of dirt in there. I got a 4 in. Plastic DWV Flexible Cap (Rubber) from Home Depot drilled a hole in the middle for the water line to go through and pushed the cap into the hole to keep water and dirt from getting in there. Although it won't help you maybe this will help someone else avoid having the issue you now have.

Fixed the missing arm bolts on my awning and sent off my tire carrier to Aluminess for an update. Picked up 2 grey sienna seats and a 3rd row excursion seat that folds forward flat to extend the bed down below and still have seating for 4.
