Yesterday I installed a "security drawer" under the drivers seat. It was designed for a Jeep, but it installed easily using a couple pieces of flatbar welded to the seat base. I now have a quick place to stash valuables while running into a store or something. I have a hidden safe for long term storage, but it's a pain to get to, so often times doesn't get used for short term stuff. After that, I fabricated a temporary limb deflector to prevent tree branches from snagging on my new ARB awning. The long term plan is to have a mirror image tube on the drivers side, tied into a roof rack, and made from 2in tubing. It will protect the windshield too, and provide a place to mount a roof top light bar.

Sure wish someone here would adopt some of these "add ons" developed by members and fabricate so those of us that dont posses the skills can order. You should be proud, Both look great! That "limb deflector" compliments the lines of the Van - outstanding job.

I really like the limb deflector, it's well done!

Added another Aluminess ladder to the divers side. I got tired of stepping over the SUP boards to open up the Thule box.

Fixed my compass console today, such as described in video linked below. Compass is very important to me. Alpine navigation previous owner installed seems to lack this feature.

This is the first upgrade I did to the van other than attaching a break controller, adding a towing extension hitch and puttin WD40 in all hinges. Pretty thrilled it worked.

If you're not familiar with the fix, first picture shows poorly soldiered (from what video tells us) resistors, 2nd pic shows (my) irrational exuberance with solder (or poor skills)

P.S.
I forgot about the caster adjustment to improve the drivability that was also done to the van since purchase (and probably most important update so far). But while I did lots of research, someone else did the work

Thanks. So far, it's just some crappy hand bends in EMT tubing, a temporary aid to save the canopy before the next trip. I'm looking forward to making the real thing once I clear some space and get a real tube bender.

Good job, but it does look like you could have a bit of a cold solder joint there. You may need a larger wattage soldering iron.
