solar setup stage 1

I've installed most of the solar system (Renogy 200watt flexible panels) minus the panels, and will install them when it stops raining for long enough on a weekend. The tricky part was running the conduit/wires behind the side panels from the old TV cabinet to the rear batteries. To do this, I had to remove the fridge to get a clearer shot behind everything. The 2 sensor wires (voltage and battery temp) were pretty short, so I had to make it a short run to the batteries. While there, I also ran a piece of conduit behind the upper cabinets to run the cables from the panels, down to the controller. I backed the van under an overhang on my house, which makes it easier to climb onto the roof; the pic shows where the panels will go, behind the vent.

I restrung another night/day shade that failed on some washboard roads in Death Valley. I'm getting pretty good at it now that I've done a few.

Did a lot of errands in the van this weekend getting ready for Super Bowl. The time in the van was way more exciting than the Super Bowl itself .

I spent the day at Aluminess getting my rear swing arms rebuilt. I had cracked the latches when I bumped a tree. I also had the swing locks installed and replaced the basket with a galley box. The 14.5 year old powder coat sure is noticeable now compared the new.

A call to Aluminess a couple years ago led to the suggestion of using Rust-oleum satin Canyon Black spray paint to freshen-up the Aluminess product... they told me Its so close in color you cant tell.
****I can say it works great.

Thanks, I had meant to ask them! Actually I meant to find out and do it between the time I dropped off the swing arms and went back for the install but that never happened. I had the old swing arms powder coated so I just need to paint the body and the uprights (with much more masking now.

That color is awesome but hard to find! I painted many, many van parts with it on my SMB build(s) but then it got hard to find. If you find it buy a bunch of cans. You won't be disappointed.

You could get it on Amazon, I suppose, if you want to pay 5x the store price per can.

Just bought some a couple weeks ago off Amazon for under $4...Odd though when you open the link you sent (2 for $14.95), at the bottom right of that particular product description it states "There is a newer model of this item" and its the same product listed for 1/2 the price (Must have been the one I purchased for $3.86/can ???? Buyer beware!

I too followed 86Scotty's link and saw that newer model, it has a different manufacture number but the same name and can looks similar. A 6 pack for $25 so I'll give it a whirl.

PatO - Just a heads up; I sent you a PM concerning your BPD Oil cooler connected to your Amsoil Bypass.
