Unreg, how does air flow through those coolers? Will you cut open the backside of the bumper ‘s winch box?

Edit, I see it, you cut holes

Fox stabilizer

Installed a new Fox steering stabilizer Kit i ordered from Weldtec. My e350 is 2wd Camburg lifted and had zero stabilizer before... Install was real easy less than 2 hours and 1 brewski later. Drove up to San Francisco and the steering felt MUCH better, very planted at high speed. The steering wheel used to be very sensitive, a slight movement and you would be correcting and slightly weaving in the lane it felt like? You would really have to concentrate to keep the rig centered not so much now . I am very pleased so far .

Now I want 4 more Fox shocks dangit.

Most interesting. I experienced just the opposite. After replacing everything but the ball joints on my front end (including shocks, the steering box, leaf springs and a Fox stabilizer) the steering still required a lot of concentration to remain centered in the lane. Upon the recommendation of someone here and as an experiment, I removed the stabilizer and suddenly it was much more relaxing to drive. It now drives more like my late model pick up truck and is far more relaxing. It's odd, but I'm happy.

My van felt like it had 2" to 3" of slop in the steering wheel as I turned from side to side. I had the Ford dealer replace the steering gear last week and it drives like a new van now. As luck would have it, I had also heard a loud bang in the rear end recently and had them check the differential while they were at it. Found a broken clutch in the diff. So, that was a pretty expensive visit, but should be good to go for a while. In the last 6 months I also put new tires on and completely reworked the front brakes, new rotors, pad, and calipers. Had been thinking about a new vehicle, but may just keep this one for now.

This past week I got a major rebuild of the front end of my '07 SMB E350 4x4"

New:

Front brakes and rotors.
Axle seals.
Track Bar bushings.
Sway bar bushings.
Upper and lower ball joints.
Drag link Pittman Arm.
Red Head Steering Box replacement.
Moog tie rod ends.
Track bar.
Sway bar bushings and links.
Fox steering stabilizer install.
Parking brake adjustment.
Front end alignment.

Over 12 years old and a good amount of rough off road use. I didn't know how beat up all that stuff was, but my mechanic's recent inspection revealed a lot. Spent a lot of dough, but I feel really good about my rig's status now. Where's the next trail?!!

Based on a Motor Cover thread elsewhere on the site describing the different rear motor covers and their compatibility I found a new 2009 version to replace my OEM 2004. I hope now I will be able to access my cooler without cramping my toes!

little bit of suspension work...

the rest took more than a day:
* a coolant heater with dual pickup in the gas tank.

* a heater control valve
* pop-out windows (small side and two rear)
* remove underbody propane tank
* install punch plugs
* research wiring for radio
* remove old rear coolant hoses

and then this week...
remove underbody house battery
remove propane heater & parts

Added some master switches so I can power off the USB plugs that I added. The USB plugs all have LED lights in them that were on all the time. Drove us both nuts at night and ate un necessary power. The switches allow me to turn on only the ones that I need to charge our devices. Also added one to the propane detector so I can turn it off when the van is parked at home.

Deck plate in the water tank

I put a Beckson DP60-W-C 6" clear deck plate in the water tank.
Makes it real easy to winterize, clean the tank, and fill from a jug if I have to.
I used a 6-1/2" dia. hole saw to make the cutout. A shop vac to clean up the
shavings. Six #8x1" SS OH machine screws with nylocks and flat washers.
Some silicone sealant.
