This is an upgrade to suck hot air instead of cold, like the OEM one.

I never get it: spending money to make the airflow worse. Worse because you get worse air density with warmer air.
Air needs to be sucked from OUTSIDE the engine department.

I will simply direct ash isolated tune to the side, through the fender with a vent. Done. Filter will stay stock on the engine. (I got an N/A)

I agree.

I would choose the OEM over the The Zylstra setup .

I would go with a setup like this and a cowl induction hood.

Well, I get it duh. A REAL cold air aftermarket intake is a sealed system. Open elements under the hood don't make sense to me either as it's just sucking in engine heat which has a sig effect on HP.

However, one could argue that the the factory intake is built for factory power. The stock unit is designed to flow a certain amount but what if you upgrade your exhaust, tune both the FICM and PCM, bigger turbo, and have other performance mods that add up to more than 100 additional HP? In that case, the stock intake may not flow enough and I doubt any of us really know, or ever will. For a deleted and tuned rig like mine it's worth looking into but for most of us it's money in the bank staying with the stock intake for sure.

And an aftermarket CAI may flow more air but no doubt won't hold as much dirt. On the other hand, they're a lot easier to clean and change than the stocker. Lots of things we do to our rigs don't make sense.

That's an interesting one, I've not seen so far.

Regarding more airflow because of tuned engine: I doubt that air is missing on an forced inducted engine. Because the turbo has enough power to suck as much as it needs. Different on an N/A!

In Europe people who really travel (or at least like to look like so) are going for an air air induction from the top /roof of the car. Most with a cyclone filter. Reason is to reduce the amount of dust, which btw helps very much.
[If you want an adventure from here you travel to Africa and therefore have the first half of Africa mostly very dusty 😀]

Anyway just my 0.02ct
