2005 e350 6.0 Diesel Heavy Duty Alternator

I own a 2005 Ford E350 6.0 diesel super duty cargo van. I want to add a third battery and a separator and need to know how many amps my alternator puts out. My ford dealership does not have my alternator's serial number on record. The alternator is listed as heavy dury on the bill of sale and has a large KB on the back and then below that 5C2T-CA. Does anyone know who made this alternator or what the amperage on this alternator is?

I don't know what alternator you have, but I DO know that when it gets hot you can figure it puts out about HALF of what's on the spec sheet. We have a boat that has 4 big batteries (8D's) and could never get them topped off. Finally the alternator went Tango Uniform and the guy at the alt. shop said that when hot, the output dropped dramatically. We swapped out for a large frame alternator with almost double the output, and the problem was solved.

I *think* 5C2T is 110A.

I think the diesel had a 110A standard, 130A optional single alternator.

(FWIW - V10s can opt for up to a 220A single alternator... not sure if it'll fit the diesel).
