AC Wall Outlets?

Anyone find quality RV style wall outlets? Ones with screw connections?

I'm working on a complete rewire to Blue Sea AC and DC panels using stranded wire. My old school SMB was wired with 14 gauge Romex (solid core) and the wall outlets were a pinch style where the wire is stripped back a bit and pinched between spring connectors.

I'm looking for quality back wired wall outlets that are self contained (RV Style) but have not found any.

Is there a reason you can't use a standard home socket?

Just a little FYI on the spring type connection. They are designed to be used in a high vibration environment and will stay connected better then the screw one unless you check on them regularly.

Even your house should be checked on all connections. When we bought this house a couple of the plugs just fell off the wires. This also goes for all the connections in the panel.


Anyway we use the spring connection on starters and contactors that see military use.

Really anything in the van should only need 14 other then the microwave and that is still on a 15 amp circuit so 14 is what is called for. solid over stranded not a big deal for ac
