Both headlights on my 04 PSD quit working within the past couple of weeks. I had replaced the original bulbs with 100W J. C. Whitney units. They worked OK for 2 1/2 years and more than 20,000 miles before failing simultaneously. As it turned out, both sockets had been burned up by the extra heat, and it was not covered by warrantee.
I replaced my headlight bulbs with ones that had 100W high-beam filaments (normal low beams), and these blew the Ford's high-beam fuse after about a year of use. (High-beams stop working, low-beams still OK.)
I'm back to my old headlight bulbs. Maybe I'll try to add some small driving lights flush-mounted behind the grille instead.
Call Susquehanna Motorsports. They can help you with better pig tails (if even needed) and proper relays so you can run higher wattage Hella bulbs. Relays are the answer.

I bought some hard plastic stone shields for all my forward Hella aux lights from Susquehanna Motorsports. Very good selection of lights, bulbs, etc, and very quick service.

I bought all the Hella lights for my recent build from them as well. First rate merchant and excellent tech support after the sale. I think the URL for their website is rallylights.com.
