AIMS Inverters

My next project will be an inverter, so I am researching them.

I have had conversations with the technical folks at Magnum Energy, Samlex, Xantrex, and AIMS. The Magnum folks knew what they were talking about and were very helpful; the Samlex guy was rude and either knew less than I did, or just didn't want to help; and the Xantrex folks were OK.

And then I decided to call AIMS (About Us | AIMS Power). Wow. Kyle, the tech I spoke with, was amazing. Very helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. He pointed out technical details that nobody else had. And I do love technical details...

It is a small company; has been around since 2001. Looks like they might have had some quality issues in the past; but if Kyle is any reflection on where they are now, I'm impressed. Compared to Magnum:
- they are less expensive.
- they leave out a couple of expensive features that I don't need:
1) stacking ability, and
2) second AC input for direct throughput to the secondary AC panel (the primary AC input does provide pass-through to the secondary AC panel).
- if issues arise, they provide direct access to the tech people who design and repair the units. Kyle is one of those people. They will also ship out parts, and talk the owner through parts replacement.

I am really tempted to buy an AIMS inverter instead of Magnum.

Has anyone had any recent experience with them?

Thanks!
