Any inside lighting to LED mofications talk here

Even if there has been no question asked, if you modified your inside lighting and think that others would benefit from your experience, please post it here.

For me, I want to add more LED lights to my van and am trying to figure out the best way to do that. So far, Ebay LED strips and Home Depot LED disks with the external transformer that gets removed seems the way to go. What I do now is change all the bulbs to LED bulbs that I bought from Ebay. If anyone can suggest a HIGH QUALITY brand of LED bulbs and products, please let me know.

Hallogen?
Solar?
Quick Fixes?

Thanks.

And include pics, will ya!

Mods,Feel free to move this wherever it should go.

Re: Any inside lighting to LED mofications talk here

As was suggested to me at the meet and greet: I replaced the florescent light over my stove with one, I ordered from SMBW, like in the back of my van that has 3 festoon (look like fuses) bulbs.

I ordered a red # 64357 festoon ultra bright 20 SMT LED 1 3/4 inches or 42 mm for $14.99 from LEDLIGHT.com. I swiveled it in its holder so it shines toward the back of the light so the glow is perfect and does not shine in my face. In fact, I rotated the other warm white light bulbs too.

I ordered a blue # 4210-xHP6 High Power 6-LED Festoon bulb for $14.95 from superbrightleds.com. I rotated this bulb the same way. When it is on and my shades are pulled, I can see my way around in the van but no one can tell I am in the van and have a light on.

Seems to working for me Mike. Here is the light. West Marine #8979120. It's not real bright but I think it will work for my purpose.

If you're willing to deal with a crapshoot, nothing beats www.dealextreme.com. And free shipping! But really, use at your own discretion. Would stay away from the AC/wall stuff. Might burn your house down. Overall, I've had great luck with them, but 1 out of every 5 items does really suck.
