Auxillary Batteries Setup Video

Did a video of the house battery setup I did for my van.
Used 4ga CCA for the charge line
Used 4awg OFC for the power lines inside the box to the inverter
I really like the VSR, works perfectly.

Have you had previous experience with those batteries?

I haven't used Duracell AGM. On the farm we used Interstate in the tractors. In my son's race trailer with a solar system we just used WalMart group 31 deep cycle lead acids. It has worked perfectly for over a year now. (knock on wood!)

Pretty sure the Duracells are East Penn mfg. I bought a couple flooded for my F250, made in USA and they had higher CCA than most.

My deciding factors on the system I built were: Safety, Function and Cost.
Since this is going to be my weekend vehicle for driving to trailheads, I didn't feel the need to go crazy on components since there's not going to be a long term, high draw on it. I ran my house vacuum and the GF's fancy hair dryer with the inverter for over 30 minutes drawing 1700+ watts and the 4awg power cable got slightly warm, I'd estimate under 110 degrees.

Also, the Duracell AGM group 34 deep cycles from Sam's Club have a 3yr warranty.

Auxillary Batteries Setup Video

My Sam's Club Duracell deep-cycle AGMs are going on five years now and have been pretty good, especially since I haven't been as diligent about charging them as I should be. At about $150 each (I got three for a total of about 330ah), I can't complain at all.

That True battery separator is interesting...similar specs and price to the blue sea SCR series....good to know there is another choice.

So far the separator(VSR) seems great. Starts sending charge a few seconds after the vehicle starts. I turned on the inverter to see what voltage the batteries were being maintained at and it was the exact same as what the AGM/Gel charger in my garage puts out to the batteries.
