Backup Cam vs. Spare Tire

Just installed the Aluminess spare tire carrier/swing arm and it's setting off the stock backup camera alarm in my 2014 E350. I'm good with the slightly limited backup view, but any way to permanently shut the alarm off? Gettin tired of pushing that little dash button to shut it up.

You could always just unplug it underneath the rear bumper.

I'd figure out how to move the sensors. You may need coax or twisted pair if you need to lengthen any of the connections.

On my 2012 E350, you can turn off backup sensors (not the cam, they are separate devices) in the odometer settings. Click the odometer button until you get to that setting and select OFF.

J, I see the cam on the license plate area. Is the actual sensor underneath the bumper somewhere?

MS: same question, is the sensor actually somewhere not near the cam?

It resets every time you turn off the ignition. I'm going to go deeper into the settings and see if there's a permanent "Off" setting. But if I could move the sensor itself and still have that backup warning function, that would be cool.
