Re: Bad Starting Battery
For me everything failed at once, or I should say the original house battery and both starters were toast by the time I did anything (not that I tested them outside the van). The second house battery was constantly dragged down by the original one, so it has a lot more wear than it should, although it seems decent now that I've disconnected the original house battery.
The starter batteries problems were masked by the separator jumping to the house on every start, and I also wound up with a bad separator in the mix- at some point it just stayed closed no matter what.

In addition:
The van was previously owned. God knows what awful, awful things the previous owner did to the batteries. He certainly never replaced any of them.... not that I'm much better.
