Re: Battery recommendations

Velogeo-
I used the Energy One batteries from Boat Electric on the boat we had a few years ago. They were super. I had 4 of the 8D batteries, (1 as starting battery for a 330 Cummins, and 3 house batteries. The total space required was just about the same as 2 of the old "regular" 8D's. They were fantastic, (if a little pricey), but they came with really neat fiberglas boxes and the whole deal was really high quality.

Re: Battery recommendations

The Optima Yellowtops have a bad rep in the Toyota Landcuiser forums. The don't die a slow death they just die. From my experience in the boating and charging world (in this case science equipment that require charging batteries using inverters) you either get good one or a bad one. The 4wheeler types (ie., those that are doing a lot of winching and even put two batteries under thehood to handle the load) seem to favor Odyssey. http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc1500t.htm
The Sear Diehard Platinum is also the same battery and both are made by Enersys.
